Zulu Falls

The lodge is situated in a secluded hideaway 36 kilometres from Mooi River. It overlooks the impressive 83 meter high Zulu Falls, from which it gets its name, and is on the Mooi River, which has 5 water falls in total.

The lodge consists of 4 twin, en suite rooms, and two en suite rondavels, sleeping 3 adults each. There is a separate kitchen/dining area, complete with an open fireplace/braai and all with a spectacular view of Zulu Falls.

Note: The site is booked as one booking so full group privacy is guaranteed.

Located in the Royal Natal National Park the camp offers breathtaking views of the Amphitheater, overlooks the Thukela River, its gorge and the Thukela Falls. This is the second highest waterfall in the world after the Angel Falls.

The view is dominated by the spectacular wall of the Amphitheater and the Mont Aux Sources (3,282m). The Amphitheater is over 5 km long and its over 1,000m high cliff is rising over the valley and the Thukela Gorge over the entire length.

The Royal Natal Park and Thendele Camp is not only about the Amphitheatre, Mont-aux-sources and the Tugela Falls, there are numerous trails to hike and there are San rock art shelters to visit. The hike we normally do is a 4 hour easy hike with stunning panoramic views.

Thendele Camp is made of two accommodation units, the older original camp – Lower Camp Thendele, and the more recently built, Upper Camp.

The chalets are all brick under thatch with views over the Amphitheater. The camp itself is a starting point for many hikes in different difficulties and lengths to choose from.

It also offers a lot of space to relax in nature and has open spaces to enjoy some yoga with amazing views.

Nambiti Game Reserve

Nambiti is a luxury 5-star private game reserve in a malaria-free zone – so there’s no need for medication. It is also the only reserve in the area that can boast of having the Big 5, along with 40 other game species. Nambiti’s 22,000 acres offer incredible biodiversity, with grasslands, riverine bush, savannah and thornveld.

Ndaka Safari Lodge is an African farmstead which has been converted and renovated into a homely, family-friendly lodge. Sleep in a luxurious safari tent and wake up looking at giraffes and other African mammals from your bed.

The experienced field guides at Ndaka have a wealth of knowledge on the local fauna and flora, geology, history and geography offering a fun and informative African bush experience.

The Guest House

The guest house boasts plenty of living space which all benefit from lots of sunlight thanks to the large windows. All bedrooms are spacious with ample cupboard space and have magnificent valley and sea views. The large and luminous lounge offers space for one to relax, unwind, read books or play one of the instruments. You are sure to love the classic, and sometimes retro, decor of our sturdy house. The upstairs area has a covered balcony overlooking the valley, sea views and a large back terrace to enjoy the afternoon sun.

Our accommodation is able to welcome up to 16 guests, (8 guests in the main house, 6 guests in the cottage and 2 in the flat). Most of the beds have the option to be converted into king size beds or single beds. All our rooms come with tea and coffee, ceiling fans, lots of cupboard space and fresh towels.

The nearby Umzumbe and Pumula beaches are beautiful and untouched and the Umzumbe beach is a blue flag beach. Near Umzumbe beach, Stiebel Rocks beach provides a sheltered corner allowing for easy swimming. We hope you will love Pumula as much as we do. Come visit our slice of paradise and take a break from your busy lives. The only sounds you will hear will be the sounds of nature.

Healthy meals and comfortable beds await guests at each location, ensuring ultimate comfort and relaxation. The tour is totally flexible and can also be reduced to a 7 day trip (2 nights in the Drakensberg, 2 nights at the Game Reserve and 3 nights at Pumula Retreat).
